As the 2016 high school baseball season gets under way Logan County’s three teams are all ranked in the top 10 in the WV MetroNews Power Index.

Logan is ranked No. 8 in the state in Class AAA, while Chapmanville is third in Double-A and Man fifth in Single-A.

Both Man and Chapmanville were state runner-ups last year.

It’s the last season the Wildcats, Hillbillies and Tigers will be competing in different classes.

Next season, all three will compete at the Class AA level as Man is moving up to Double-A and Logan is going down to 2A.

Jefferson was first in the Class AAA poll, while Bridgeport was No. 1 in 2A and Wahama was first in Single-A.
