The Logan High School basbeall team has dropped three games so far in the Mingo Bay Classic tournament at Myrtle Beach, S.C.
On Tuesday, Logan (1-5) lost 7-2 to Marist, Ill.
Then on Wednesday, the Wildcats fell 3-1 to R-S Central, (N.C.).
Thursday’s tourney game resulted in a 12-0 loss by Logan to Socastee (S.C.) in five innings.
In the Marist game, Logan senior left-hander Jared Shawver went five innings, allowing five runs (only one earned).
T.J. Mullins allowed two runs with one earned over two innings.
Will Akers, Alex Toler and Tyler Browning all collected two hits each.
In the loss to R-C Central, Chase Burnette allowed two unearned runs over five innings and Akers allowed one run over two innings.
Akers, Ryan Holstein, Burnette and Tommy Adkins all had singles.
In the mercy-shortened loss to Socastee, Matt Brown started on the hill for the Cats, allowing seven runs over three innings with only one being earned. Peyton Branham allowed five earned runs over 1/3 of an inning while Shawn Blevins pitched a scoreless 2/3 of an inning.
Holstein, Mullins and Brown all had singles in the loss.
Logan was scheduled to play Elyria (Ohio) on Friday at Myrtle Beach High School in the Cats’ final Mingo Bay game.
The Wildcats host Lincoln County on Tuesday at 7 p.m. against Lincoln County.

The Chapmanville Regional High School baseball team improved to 6-0 on the season with Thursday night’s 13-3 win at home over Class AAA Lincoln County at Chapmanville’s Ted Ellis Field.
The Tigers outhit the Panthers 11-5.
Chapmanville led 4-1 after two and then broke the game open with four runs in the third and two more in the fifth to lead 11-1.
Tyler Shannon had three hits and two RBI for the Tigers. Jacob Dingess had two hits and two RBI.
Conner Mullins was the starting and winning pitcher. He went three innings and struck out two. Jacob Dingess then fanned one.
Cody Bonnett had two hits for Lincoln County.
Jacob Sansom was the starting and losing pitcher for the Panthers. He went three innings.
Homestanding Sissonville handed the Chapmanville Regional High School baseball team its first loss of the season with Friday’s 4-3 win over the Class AA No. 2-ranked Tigers.
The Indians scored the eventual game winner with two outs in the bottom of the sixth inning as Zach Boggess singled home Josh Landis, breaking a 3-all tie.
Boggess, Cade Snyder and Landis all had RBIs for Sissonville (5-2) while Jacob Fisher and Ethan Lauchart both collected two hits.
Sissonville outhit the Tigers 8-3. Chapmanville had four errors in the game to just one for Sissonville.
Josh Zigmond had two of Chapmanville’s hits. He also drove in two runs.
Alex Berry started on the hill for Chapmanville and went four innings, striking out four. Zigmond pitched two innings of relief and was tagged with the loss. He fanned three.
Chapmanville, 6-1 overall and 3-1 in the Cardinal Conference, was slated to play at Van on Saturday. CRHS hosts Scott on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. and goes to Man on Thursday for a 7 p.m. game before hosting Point Pleasant on Friday at 7 p.m.
