Lady Cats blank St. Albans 2-0

The Logan High School softball team picked up a big win on Monday evening with a 2-0 shutout win over Class AAA sectional rival St. Albans at the Logan Softball Complex.

Hana Sedlock, who has battled an injury at the first part of the season, returned to the pitcher’s circle and notched the win.

Sedlock went seven innings and struck out 12 while allowing only one hit and walking three.

Logan improved to 5-4 on the season with the win.

“Hana had been off a week and a half with tendonitis in her arm,” Logan coach Randy Robinette said. “It was good to have her back. We need her in order to be successful.”

The Lady Cats plated one run in the bottom of the first and one in the third.

Mohoghani Patton went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Logan. Monica Mitchell had a single and an RBI.

Steph Curry, Chelsea Napier and Brooklyn Queen all singled in the win.

The Lady Cats were scheduled to return to action with Tuesday’s game at Westside. Logan then hosts Scott on Wednesday at 4 p.m. and county rival Man on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. LHS hosts Point Pleasant on Friday at 5:30 p.m. and travels to Winfield on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest.

Chapmanville 8,

Lincoln County 4

The Chapmanville Regional High School softball team improved to 9-3 on the season with Monday’s 8-4 win at Class AAA Lincoln County.

Chapmanville trailed 4-1 after three innings, then plated two runs in the top of the fourth, two in the sixth and three in the seventh to get the win.

The Lady Tigers outhit LC 11-5. Both teams committed two errors.

Kenzie McCann pitched the complete game win over Chapmanville.

Shian Meeks was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and three RBI. Grace Belcher also hit a homer for the Lady Tigers.

Allie Harless went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Karah Little and Hollie Carter also doubled. Kara Browning had a double and an RBI.

CRHS was slated to play at Wayne on Tuesday evening. The Lady Tigers play at county rival Man on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. and host Sissonville on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
