Jared Shawver and the Logan High School baseball team notched another win on Wednesday night at a breezy and drizzly Roger Gertz Field in Logan as the Wildcats won 4-2 over the Cabell Midland Knights.

Logan improved to 3-5 on the season while Cabell Midland dropped to 3-5.

Shawver, a senior left-hander, picked up the win on the mound for the Wildcats as he fired a complete game win. He went seven innings and allowed one unearned runs on four hits with three strikeouts.

Logan had just three hits for the game — RBI singles by Alex Toler, Chase Burnette and TJ Mullins — all coming in the Wildcats’ three-run fourth inning.

Cabell Midland scored a run in the top of the third and one more in the top of the fifth.

Logan had three errors in the game to just one for the Knights.

The Wildcats were scheduled to play at Hurricane on Friday night, weather permitting. Logan then hosts George Washington on Tuesday at 7 p.m. before going to Ripley next Wednesday and hosting Scott next Friday, April 15.
