The Chapmanville Regional High School baseball team ran its record to 18-2 on the season with Tuesday’s 17-5 non-conference blowout win at Class AAA Lincoln County.

Josh Bazzilla and Adam Vance had two hits each to lead Chapmanville.

Vance and Tyler Shannon had three RBIs apiece, while Bazzilla knocked in a couple of runs.

Chapmanville wasted no time, plating six runs in the top of the first inning and five more in the second to grab an 11-1 lead. The Tigers then coasted to victory.

Freshman Conner Mullins picked up the win on the mound for CRHS. The right-hander went six innings and tossed a complete game win, striking out six batters. He was also the starting and winning pitcher in last week’s 16-1 win at Tolsia.

The Tigers were coming off Monday’s 6-5 win at home over Sissonville at home.

CRHS trailed 5-1 after four innings but plated two runs in the last half of the six and three in the bottom of the seventh to win the Cardinal Conference game.

Chapmanville outhit the Indians 10-3. Vance and Noah Dingess had two hits each.

Chris Bailey was the starting pitcher but got a no-decision. Josh Zigmond pitched three innings in relief and was credited with the win.

Chapmanville is scheduled to return to the diamond with Thursday’s game at Class AA sectional rival Scott. Game time is 6:30 p.m. The Tigers then play at 3A Point Pleasant on Friday at 6:30 and host 3A Hurricane at noon on Saturday.
