Tigers drop one spot to third in poll

The Chapmanville Regional High School baseball team dropped one spot to third in the state in this week’s Class AA Gazette-Mail Baseball Poll.

Chapmanville has a 19-2 record and is currently riding a five-game winning streak.

Bridgeport (11-4), the defending Class AA state champions, are still ranked No. 1 this week. Independence (16-1) is second.

Sissonville (12-6), a fellow Cardinal Conference team along with the Tigers, is No. 8 this week, while conference team Wayne (13-5) is tied for sixth. League team Poca received one vote in this week’s poll.

Jefferson (19-2) is ranked No. 1 this week in Class AAA. Hurricane (18-5) is second and South Charleston (16-4) third.

Pendleton County (15-3) is No. 1 this week in the Class A poll. Wahama (13-5) is second and South Harrison (15-3) is ranked third.
