CYSL: Blue Inferno douses Fireballs 12-3

There was plenty of action last weekend in the Coalfield Youth Soccer League.

One of the feature matches was a 17-and-under game on the Field Turf between the Blue Inferno and the Fireballs at Man High School’s George A. Queen Memorial Field.

In that matchup, the Blue Inferno routed the Fireballs 12-3. Dino Noe led the Blue Inferno with four goals. Joey Vinson had three and Walker Jeffery two. Hunter Alfrey, Erika Smith and Whitney Evans all had one goal each. Brandon Maynard tallied two goals and Ethen Mendoza one for the Fireballs.

In the 12-and-under division, the Vikings conquered the Grasshoppers 9-1. Peyton Thompson led the Vikings with four goals, while Brooklyn White had two and Dylan Watkins, Kendra Ooten and Bralen Adams all had one each. Maria Lane netted the only goal for the Grasshoppers.

In another U12 match, Havoc rolled to a 15-1 win over Infinity. Jesse Justice led the Havoc with four goals, while Michael Ojeda and Brayden Likens each had a hat trick Tanner Clay, Autumn Peyton, Trinity Johnston, Bryson Adkins and Dillon Holton all had one each. Infinity’s only goal was scored by Jordin Frances.

The U12 White Lightning also prevailed over the Thundercats, 8-1. For the White Lightning, Madison Hoffman, Madison Mullins and Payton Hoffman all had two each. Sydney Young and Jaylen Gillman had one goal apiece. The only goal by the Thundercats was scored by Damon Moore.

In the 9-and-under division, the Coal Diggers dug their way to a 10-4 win over the Grape Apes. Garrett Dean paced the Diggers with four goals. Cammye Kovach and Tyler Oney had three each. For the Grape Apes, James Thompson had two goals and Jacob Deer and Blake Browning had one each.

The Warriors won its U9 match easily over the Crusaders, 14-1. Kaleb Burford led the Warriors with six big goals. Raelynn Mendez, Dylan Mendez, Landon Bourne and Molly Gore all had two each. John Osbourne tallied the lone goal for the Crusaders. In a correction in last week’s report, Burford had five goals against the Sharks.

The Avalanche won over the Masters of Disaster, 7-1. Aiden Baker scored five goals for the Avalanche. Hunter Baker and Cameron Hoffman had one goal each. Carter Neal scored for the MOD.

In a rout, the Chaos scored a 22 to nil victory over the Giants. Gracie Tackett scored five goals, while Kendan Trent had four. Westin Adkins, Connor White, Brayden Bishop each had a hat trick, while Rilee Hatifield and Austin Bishop each reached the nets twice.

The Orange Crush won 9-3 over the Sharks. Gavin Noe scored seven goals for the Crush and Darian Woods had two. The Sharks’ goals were unavailable.

In a close one, the Strikers won 7-5 over the Wasps. For the Strikers, Braydon Craddock had four goals and Lexi Gillman had three. For the Wasps, Briar Harvey had four and Landon Hale one.
