This year’s North-South All-Star Football Classic will have a Man High School flavor.
The head coach of the South All-Stars is Man’s Harvey Arms.
Coach Arms is also bringing two of his players — quarterback John Thomas Keffer and lineman Christian McCoy — to play for the South.
Both Keffer and McCoy were named Class A All-State Second Team last year for the 8-3 Hillbillies.
Keffer completed 113-of-191 passes for 1,730 yards with 27 touchdowns and six interceptions on the season last fall. He also ran for 223 yards and scored nine TDs.
McCoy was Man’s leading tackler with 72 stops and also four QB sacks.
Also on the South roster are: Mingo Central lineman Cole Ellis; Tug Valley running back/defensive lineman and second-team all-stater Phillip Lucas; Scott tight end/defensive lineman Codie Loftus; Tolsia running back/defensive back Luke Presley; Wayne running back/defensive back Cody Stiltner; and Wayne running back/defensive lineman Logan Queen.
Presley, a Class AA all-state first-team pick, was the driving force behind the Rebels making it to the Super Six for the first time since 2006 as he had 2,144 rushing yards and 34 total touchdowns.
The quarterback is Capital High School’s Tyrhee Pratt, the Kennedy Award winner.
This year’s North-South game is set for Saturday, June 18 at University of Charleston Stadium/Laidley Field in Charleston. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
The game director is Bob Mullett. The sponsors are the West Virginia Athletic Coaches Association and WCHS-TV/FOX-11.
Ryan Wilson of Clay-Battelle High School is the head coach of the North Bears.
The South All-Stars won last year’s game 7-0.
No players from Chapmanville Regional or Logan were picked to play in this year’s game.
