CHAPMANVILLE — Shian Meeks led the way for the Chapmanville Regional High School softball team as the Lady Tigers rolled over rival Scott 15-0 in Tuesday night’s Class AA sectional tournament at Chapmanville’s Ronnie Ooten Field.

Meeks, a senior shortstop, hit two home runs as the Lady Tigers advanced.

The win gave Chapmanville a 26-4 record and moved the Lady Tigers into Game 2 on Wednesday night in the best-of-three series with Scott (6-18).

A win over Scott in Game 2 would move Chapmanville into the May 12 Class AA regional semifinals against Wayne at home.

Savannah Wiley, Kara Browning and Alli Harless had doubles for Chapmanville as well in Tuesday’s win.

Kenzie McCann earned the win with a five-inning no hitter.

The game was stopped after five due to the mercy rule.

Chapmanville is 3-0 against Scott this season, also taking a pair of 8-0 wins during the regular season.

The Lady Tigers finished regular season play last Thursday with an 18-0 win at Tolsia.
