Local team wins AAU title

The West Virginia Dream AAU team won the NTBA 10th grade division National Championship this past week in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Dream team was coached by Billy Sipple and the team is comprised of high school players from Logan, Chapmanville, Madison, Belfry (Ky.), and Tug Valley.

On their way to the national title the WV Dream played AAU teams from Myrtle Beach, Fayetteville N.C., Raleigh, N.C., Maryland, Charleston, S.C., and Macon, Ga.

The WV Dream defeated The Georgia Blaze 45-39 in the title game to bring the national title home to the Mountain State.

The roster included players from several regional schools and two local players from Belfry and Tug Valley. They are: Kailee Rash (Belfry), Ally Sipple (Logan); Stevy Kirkland (Logan); Alexis Perry (Logan); Madison Webb (Chapmanville); Bekah White (Tug Valley); Kaileah Williams (Logan); and Holly Toler (Scott High School).

The squad and parents thanked Coach Sipple and the Assistant Coach is Ryan Webb.
