The Chapmanville Regional High School soccer team improved to 6-3 on the season with Saturday afternoon’s 5-4 win over Sheldon Clark (Ky.) at the Sheldon Clark High School soccer field in Inez, Ky.

Zach Lamb scored a hat trick of goals for the Tigers. Dylan Brown scored the other two goals for Chapmanville.

Hailey Chewning had two assists for Chapmanville. Fidelis Nwafor and Lamb had one assist each.

Sheldon Clark led 2-1 at the half and 3-1 in the early moments in the second half before Chapmanville rallied.

The Tigers then scored three straight goals to go up 4-3.

Sheldon Clark then tied it and Chapmanville scored the go-ahead and eventual winning goal as Chewning came of the bench and lifts a lob pass to Lamb who scored on a reverse header to put Chapmanville up for good with two minutes left in the match.

Sheldon Clark then scored a goal late but it was disallowed by rule and CRHS held on for the win.

Chapmanville coach Greg Dillon said Austin Adams and Christian Stafford had solid games on defense. Goalie Ben Chapman had three saves and showed great leadership, Dillon said.

The Tigers were scheduled to play at Scott on Tuesday night.
