Man netters spike Westside 3-0

MAN, W.Va. — The Man High School volleyball team breezed past the Westside Renegades 3-0 on Tuesday night at the Man Memorial Fieldhouse.

Man prevailed 25-17, 25-19, 25-20.

The Lady Billies improved to 4-4-2 on the season with the win.

Man recently went 1-3-2 in six matches played last Saturday at the Buffalo Invitational at Buffalo High School.

The Lady Billies lost 2-0 to Wirt County and 2-0 to Williamstown before tying Nitro 1-1. Man then tied Charleston Catholic 1-1 and lost to Petersburg 2-0 before beating the Poca Dots 2-0 in the finale.

Man is coached by Orlando Washington.

The Lady Billies traveled to Wyoming East on Thursday.

* The Logan High School volleyball team, coached by Alice Hensley, currently stand at 3-4 on the season.

The Lady Cats lost 3-0 at home to Wayne on Tuesday.

On Sept. 8 in a home tri-match, Logan defeated Lincoln County 2-0 and toppled Scott 2-1.

Logan was scheduled to travel to Sherman on Thursday.

* The Chapmanville Regional High School volleyball team, coached by Johnny Williamson are 5-2 on the season after beating Tug Valley 3-0 on Saturday at Naugatuck.

The Lady Tigers lost 2-1 to Nicholas County and fell 2-1 to Clay County on Sept. 8 in a road tri-match at Clay County.

Chapmanville had won a home tri-match on Sept. 6, defeating Cardinal Conference foes Scott and Nitro by identical 2-0 scores.

* The Beth Haven Christian volleyball team opened the season on Aug. 30 at home and beat Ambassador Christian Academy out of Williamson 3-1.

Then on Sept. 2, Beth Haven lost 3-1 at home to Ballard Christian School.

On Sept. 9-10, the Beth Haven Christian middle school team played in a tournament at Heritage Christian School in Ravenswood and the Hornets took second place.

Then on Sept. 12, the Beth Haven varsity squad lost 3-0 at Covenant Christian School of Huntington.

Beth Haven’s varsity team captains are Megan Hager, Rosie Maynard and Ashleigh Lowe. The middle school captains are Lexi Adkins and Ally Smith.
