CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — What a week Adam Vance and Dylan Smith had last week for the Chapmanville Regional High School football team.

Vance, a junior quarterback, and Smith, a senior wide receiver/tailback, led the Tigers to a resounding 53-20 win last Friday night at home over the Poca Dots.

The two have been named as the Logan Banner Co-Players of the Week.

Vance completed 18-of-28 passes for 361 yards and Smith scored five touchdowns in leading the Tigers to victory.

Vance hooked up with Smith on strikes of 46, 67 and 40 yards. Smith also scored on an 11-yard toss sweep and added a 45-yard fumble return on defense for the fifth score.

Smith finished with six catches for 177 yards and an additional three carries for 26 yards. He was the leading receiver in the Cardinal Conference heading into last Friday night’s game.

On defense, Smith contributed three solo tackles, one assist and the fumble return for a TD.

Chapmanville, 2-2 overall and 2-2 in the Cardinal Conference, plays at county rival Logan (3-1, 1-0) on Friday night in a big league matchup.

It will also be Logan’s annual homecoming game.
