CRHS volleyball on a winning streak

The Chapmanville Regional High School volleyball team is on a winning streak as the season heads into the stretch drive.

The Lady Tigers currently stand at 15-5 overall and have notched seven straight wins.

Chapmanville is 8-1 over its last nine matches beginning with a 2-0 win at home over the Poca Dots on Sept. 22. The Lady Tigers then lost 2-1 at home to Wayne the same night during a tri-match.

CRHS has since reeled off seven straight wins, starting on Sept. 24 as the Lady Tigers beat Mingo Central, Sissonville and Scott by identical 2-0 scores in a road quad match.

Then on Sept. 28, Chapmanville beat Sissonville again on the road with a 2-0 win.

Chapmanville’s winning streak continued on Oct. 3 with a 3-0 victory at Lincoln County. The Lady Tigers then toppled Mingo Central 2-0 at home on Oct. 4 and defeated Tolsia 2-0 the same night in a tri-match, avenging an earlier loss on the road to the Rebels.

The Lady Tigers were scheduled to play at Nitro against Nitro and Logan on Tuesday and were slated to host Clay County on Thursday. CRHS hosts the annual Chapmanville Invitational on Saturday at 10 a.m.

The Lady Tigers then play at Scott on Oct. 18, at Wayne on Oct. 20 and at Man on Oct. 27 in the regular season finale.

* The Logan High School volleyball team is just 6-11 on the season.

The Lady Cats most recently played on Oct. 6, losing 3-0 at Man. Logan lost 2-0 to Westside and 2-0 to River View on Oct. 5 in a tri-match at Westside.

Logan won two over Mingo Central, spiking the Miners 3-0 on Sept. 29 on the road and winning 3-1 on Oct. 3 at home.

On Sept. 27, Logan lost 2-0 to Point Pleasant and 2-0 to Winfield in a tri-match at Winfield.

Back on Sept. 20, Logan beat homestanding Lincoln County 2-0 and lost 2-0 to Man in a tri-match at LCHS.

* The Man High School volleyball team has a record of 13-14-1 after beating Logan 3-0 last week.

The Lady Billies beat Lincoln County 2-0 and Wyoming East 2-0 on Oct. 4 in a home tri-match.

On Sept. 27, Man lost 2-0 to Pikeview and 2-0 to Westside in a tri-match at Westside.

Back on Sept. 24, the Lady Billies went 0-3-1 in a tourney at Greenbrier East. Man lost 2-0 to Princeton, tied Martinsburg 1-1, lost 2-0 to James Monroe and lost 2-0 to George Washington.

On Sept. 22, Man beat Scott 2-0 and toppled Mingo Central 2-0 in a tri-match at Scott.
