FREDA JARRELL

VALES, N.C. — Freda Joyce Jarrell, 73, formally of Chapmanville, W.Va., went to Heaven Thurs., Sept. 3, 2015, from her home in Vales, N.C., after a long illness.

She was born July 6, 1942, in Logan, W.Va., and the daughter of the late Andrew and Mollie Whitt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Franklin D. Whitt, Andy Whitt, Danford Whitt, and Eugene Whitt; her sisters: Flora Mae Adkins, and Phyllis Harper, and her oldest son, Billy Ray Watkins.

She was a retiree of Ford Motor Co. in Cleveland, Ohio; a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Surviving is her husband, John Jarrell; two daughters, Darlene Sanchez of Vales and Shellie (John) White of Greenville, W.V.; one son, Karma Dwayne (Iris) Adkins of Chapmanville; eight grandchildren: Courtney Slocum Lowe, Richard Lowe, Allison Lowe, Sha Adkins, Rachel Phillips, Belinda Montanez, Tanya Iwanenko, and Armando (Allen) Sanchez; eight great-grandchildren: Joseph Phillips, Hannah Phillips, Benjamin Phillips, Elijah Phillips, Samera Montanez, Armando Montanez, Issiac Sanchez, and Noel Sanchez; two step-children: Shawn Jarrell and Carissa Farmer; a special dog named Bentley; a very special cousin/sister, Madaline Dingess; a sister, Goldie Whitt, and two brothers: Grover Whitt and Bobbie Whitt.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sun., Sept. 6, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Minister Roger Dingess officiating. She will be laid to rest at The Whitt Cemetery on Crawley, W.Va.

Visitation will begin after 1p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Richard Lowe, Armando Sanchez, Johnathon Whitt, Shawn Jarrell, Frankie Whitt, and John White.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of arrangements.
