OCALA, Fla. — Mrs. Melvena Sizemore, 101 years of age, passed thru Heavens Gates Friday, September 2, 2016, at her home in Ocala, Fla., where she had lived with her daughter, Alma (RJ) Wilson, since February 2013.
Born June 28, 1915, in Logan County, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Jeff and Louisa McCloud. She was one of 12 siblings. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded by her husband, Cecil Sizemore; son-in-law, Garrett Stamper; grandson, David Stamper, and granddaughter, Teri Lee Sizemore.
She was homemaker and a former resident of the Peach Creek area until relocating to Florida.
Mrs. Sizemore is survived by her daughters: Glenna (James) King and Alma (RJ) Wilson, both of Ocala, and Dottie Stamper of Dale City Va.; son, Roger Sizemore of Dallas, N.C.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
Friends may call on the family from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, September 10, at Honaker Funeral Home.
Funeral services will commence at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. John Faine officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Dean Hunt, Donald Hunt, Gary Workman and David McRoberts.
