Members of the Logan West Virginia Commandery No. 26 will be honored on Saturday, Feb.19 at 8 a.m. on Saturday when the Eminent Grand Sentinel of the Grand Commandery of the Knights Templar will visit Logan.

Richard D. Riddle is a native of Glenville, West Virginia and a graduate of West Virginia University (B.S. in 1955 and M.A. 19610, who married his college sweetheart, Anna Lee Porter some 55 years ago.

Eminent Grand Sentinel Porter is a retired public school administrator for the Montgomery County Maryland school district, a former officer in the U.S.> Army Corps of Engineers and the first president of the Glenville High School Alumni Association. He is a member of the Weston Lodge No. 7, A.F. & A. M. ; member and secretary of the Bigelow Chapter no. 4. Royal Arch Masons; member and former commander of the St. John's Commandery No. 8 Knights Templar; member Weston Chapter No. 40 Order of the Eastern Star; member Nemesis Shrine, Parkersburg, W.V. ; member Lewis County Shrine Club; member of Fort Henry York Rite College No. 61, Wheeling, W.V. ; Past Preeminent Governor Fort Henry York Rite College; 32 nd degree Mason member Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, J.J., USA Valley of Clarksburg Orient of West Virginia.

The Knights Templar organization is a branch of York Rite Freemasonry. Membership in the Knights Templar is open to Freemasons who profess a belief in the Christian religion and who have completed their Royal Arch degrees. A Knights Templar unit is called a Commandery and operates under a state level Grand Commandery as well as The Grand Encampment of the United States.
