WHITMAN The Logan Middle School baseball team picked up its second Mid-Valley Conference win with Tuesdays 11-1 victorty over Ravenswood at Timmy Marcums Field of Dreams at Whitman. The Timberwolves were led by the outstanding pitching of Ryan Miller, who fired a one-hitter in the mercy-shortened five-inning game. Miller struck out seven in the win. Logan led 4-1 after four innings before pushing seven runs across in the home half of the fifth inning to end the game early. LMS catcher Z. Minnick led the T-Wolves attack as he was 2-for-4 with three RBI. Shortstop Chase Preston was 1-for-2, while outfielder Zack Hanlon and second baseman Connor Akers were both 1-for-3 with an RBI. Miller helped his own cause with a hit and two RBI. I told the team that they werent mentally prepared to play this game and we had two errors and a walk to start the game, Alex Perry said. Miller and the LMS defense then stood their ground and only allowed one run. Added LMS assistant coach Jerry Greene, I think at that point they realized that this Ravenswood team was much better than last year. Perry said LMS plays in a tough league. Our conference is competitive every year and this year it appears that everyone has improved, he said. Logan was slated to return to action on Wednesday night at home against Ripley.
