A Mt. Gay man has been charged with taking industrial mining parts and selling them for scrap.
Saul Williams, 34, was lodged in the Southwestern Regional Jail on August 24 for breaking and entering and grand larceny for crimes allegedly happening on July 13.
According to the criminal complaint, West Virginia State Police contacted the victim, Timothy Crum, through the WVSP communications about a breaking and entering at Peach Creek.
Upon arrival, WVSP Tpr. R.E. Stowers states he “observed the chain link fence to be cut.” Crum advised Stowers that Williams “was taking heavy industrial mining parts from the property, valued at $15,000 total and selling them to the scrap yard.”
Stowers obtained “several handwritten statements from individuals stating that they overheard the defendant talk about stealing these items…” Stowers also obtained a recording “of the defendant admitting that he had broke into said property.”
Williams is being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $15,000 bond.

• Patricia Ann Harvey, 53, was arrested and charged with 2 counts of possession on August 22 by WVSP Tpr. R.E. Stowers. She was released on a $2,000 bond.
• Dorsey Ray Darby, 48, was arrested and charged with Domestic Battery on August 23 by City of Logan Patrolman K.R. Conley. He was released on a $3,500 bond.
