During the recent West Virginia State Police marijuana eradication, one local person’s pot field was spotted by a WVSP helicopter on August 15 which resulted in an arrest.
Susie Lynn Whitt, 25, of Chapmanville, was arrested and charged with cultivation of marijuana x10 and possession of a controlled substance by WVSP Tpr. R.E. Stowers.
According to the criminal complaint, the helicopter spotted the marijuana growing in an open field behind Whitt’s residence. When Stowers spoke with Whitt, who is the owner of the field, she reportedly verbally admitted to having pills in her pocket. When Stowers searched Whitt, he found six Hydrocodone pills in a silver container.
Whitt was arraigned in Magistrates Court on September 17. She was released on a $5,000 bond.
- A Whitman resident was arrested for cultivation of marijuana x5 after WVSP Tpr. J.G. Honaker spotted the plants during a routine road patrol.
WVSP Tpr. J.G. Honaker reports that during the patrol on September 3, he spotted the five plants growing in Scott Lukacs’ front yard at Bradshaw Hollow Road in plain view of the road.
Lukacs, 33, was arraigned on September 17 in Magistrates Court. He was released on a $5,000 bond.

- Christopher Charles Nagy, 44, of Logan, was arrested and charged with no insurance, fraudulent/improper motor vehicle inspection, no seatbelt, driving suspended/revoked for non DUI and failure to use turn signal by WVSP Tpr. R.E. Stowers on September 14. He was released on a $1,500 bond.
- Jacob Paul Hensley, 21, of Hats, was arrested and charged with night time burglary, destruction of property, battery and assault on an officer x3 by WVSP Tprs. B.A. Lowe and J.E. Garren on September 15. He was released on a $25,000 bond.
- Caryn Michelle Miller, 33, of Peach Creek, was arrested and charged with domestic assault, domestic battery and brandishing a deadly weapon on September 15 by WVSP Tpr. R.E. Stowers. She was released on a $3,000 bond.
