Coal Field Youth Soccer League: Clemens scores five goals to lead Bulldogs

CHAPMANVILLE — The third week of the Coal Field Youth Soccer League is in the books.

Five matches were played last Saturday, Sept. 22, at Chapmanville.

In the 16-and-under division, the Ninjas blanked the Legends 3-0 as all three goals were scored by Hunter Napier.

In the 12-and-under division, the Bulldogs won in an 11-0 match over the Sharks. Steven Clemens led the Bulldogs with five goals. Walter MacNamara and Aidan Napier tallied two goals each. Allen Kelly and Trent Orso each put the ball into the net once.

In the 12-and-under division, the Scorpions and the Red Dragons played to a 1-1 draw but the Scorpions ended up winning the game on penalty kicks. Hannah Adams scored the goal for the Red Dragons. The Scorpions’ goal was netted by Savannah Toney.

In other matches, the Golden Eagles won 9-0 over the Broncos and the Warriors won 10-0 over the Sharks in the 9-and-under division. Peyton Adams tallied three goals for the Golden Eagles. Jayde Kuenzel and Austin Mills had two each. Davis Dempsey and Krysteea Mullins scored one apiece.

For the Warriors, Alyssa Chambers and Sara Kirk had two goals each. Savannah Tomblin, Gregory Howard, Alanna Tomblin, Tori Wilburn, Isaac Setser and Wade Setser contributed one goal each.
