After last week’s 38-28 win on the road at Winfield, the Logan High School football team has climbed four spots to No. 9 in the state in this week’s Class AAA Computer Football Ratings, which were released on Tuesday afternoon.

Logan currently sits at 5-1 and observe a bye week on Friday night. The Wildcats host Huntington on Oct. 12 in the annual Logan High School homecoming game. The Highlanders are No. 4 and sport a 4-1 record.

Cabell Midland is first this week in the Class AAA ratings as the Knights have a 6-0 record and 15.17 ratings points.

Second is University (6-0) at 13.17, while Martinsburg (5-1) is third, George Washington (4-1) fifth, Elkins (5-1) sixth, Morgantown (4-1) seventh, Point Pleasant (4-1) eighth and Oak Hill (4-1) 10th.

Beckley Woodrow Wilson (4-2) is 11th, Musselman (4-2) 12th, Spring Valley (3-2) 13th, Hurricane (3-2) 14th, Wheeling Park (4-2) 15th and Parkersburg (4-2) 16th.

If the season ended today, Logan would travel to Point Pleasant for a first-round 3A playoff game. The Wildcats were 8-2 last season and qualified for a home playoff.

In the Class AA ratings, Scott (6-0) remains in first place in the state with a 11.33 rating. Bridgeport (5-1) is second with 10.33 points.

Wayne (5-0) is third in 2A, Frankfort (5-0) fourth, Keyser (4-1) fifth and Bluefield (4-1) and Robert C. Bryd (5-1) are tied for sixth. Petersburg (4-1) is eighth, Ritchie County (4-2) ninth, Wyoming East (4-2) 10th, Mingo Central (3-2) 11th, Liberty Raleigh (4-2) and River View (4-2) are tied for 12th, Roane County (3-3) and Webster County (3-3) are tied for 14th and Philip Barbour (3-3) and Tolsia (3-3) are tied for 16th.

The top 16 teams in each class qualify for the playoffs which begin Nov. 9 across the state.

Chapmanville Regional (3-3) is tied for 19th with Braxton County (3-3) and Summers County (3-3). The Tigers host Class A Man on Friday night in the CRHS homecoming game.

In this week’s Class A ratings, Tucker County (6-0) is first in the state with 9.17 ratings points. Greenbrier East (5-1) is second with 8.33 points.

Valley Fayette (5-0) is third, Wahama (6-0) fourth, Clay-Battelle (6-0) fifth, East Hardy (5-0) sixth, Magnolia (5-1) seventh and St. Marys (4-1) and Wirt County (4-1) are tied for eighth. Meadow Bridge (5-1) and Tug Valley (5-1) are tied for 10th, Buffalo (4-1) is 12th, Madonna (4-1) 13th, Bishop Donahue (5-1) 14th, Wheeling Central Catholic (4-2) 15th and Clarksburg Notre Dame (3-2) 16th.
