The Chapmanville Middle School tennis team kept its winning ways going last week with wins over Winfield, Ripley and Logan Middle.
The Lady Tigers girls defeated Winfield 5-4, knocked off Logan 7-0, and defeated Ripley 8-0. The CMS boys were able to take two of three by defeating Logan and Ripley.
In the CMS-Winfield girls’ match, the Lady Tigers’ Hali Baldwin won in singles by a 6-1 count over Anicah Smith.
Baldwin and Myla Bryant won in doubles 7-5 over Smith and Emily Moore.
Chapmanville’s Richelle Thompson and Sara Lambert won 6-0 over Winfield’s Ginny Anderson and Divijia Kottapalli.
Lambert and Samantha Williams also prevailed 6-4 in doubles action.
Thompson and Williams also took a 6-0 win.
In the CMS-Winfield match, Chapmanville’s Brycen Kuenzel won 6-4 over Hayden Summers in singles.
Chapmanville’s Josh Miller and Preston Dingess also won 6-3 over Will Richardson and Adam Watters in doubles.
In the CMS-Logan girls’ match, Chapmanville No. 1 Cassidy Lewis won 6-1 over Emma Justice of LMS.
Chapmanville No. 2 Abby Marcum beat Alison Evans 6-0.
In the No. 3, the Lady Tigers’ Baldwin took a 6-1 decision over Logan’s Hailey Owsley.
Bryant was a 6-1 winner over Logan’s Anna Beth Stennett in No. 4 singles.
In doubles, Lewis and Marcum defeated Justice and Rae Ann Reed, 6-0.
Baldwin and Bryant (6-2) and Thompson and Lambert (6-0) also prevailed in doubles matches.
Myka Veres and Sammy Williams of Chapmanville also won 6-1.
In the CMS-LMS boys’ match, Chapmanville No. 1 Kuenzel beat Logan’s Cameron Adkins 6-0.
Chapmanville No. 2 Austin Hanshaw (6-0) also won. The No. 3 and No. 4 singles matches were won by CMS via forfeit.
Hanshaw and D.J. Conley won in doubles 6-4 for the Tigers. Josh Miller and Conley also took a 6-0 win.
In the Chapmanville-Ripley girls’ match, Lewis beat Madison Poe 6-4 in the No. 1 singles.
Marcum (7-5), Baldwin (6-1) and Bryant (6-1) were also winners.
Lewis and Marcum won 6-2 in doubles. Baldwin and Bryant (6-2), Thompson and Williams (6-0) and Veres and Lambert (6-0) were also victorious.
Kuenzel and Hanshaw won in doubles 6-3 over Ripley’s Ryan Shatto and Trae Swisher.
Conley and Dingess beat Cody Ramsey and Micah Ranson, 6-0, while Chapmanville’s Miller, Kuenzel and Hanshaw were victorious in other singles and doubles action as well.
