WEST LOGAN, W.Va. — Mrs. Hazel Evelyn Butcher, 87, of West Logan, was born January 19, 1925, at Big Ugly, a daughter of the late Robert and Roxie Butcher Chapman. She departed this life Friday, October 19, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Butcher, along with her husband, were the co-founders of B&M Repair Inc., that has now passed to a third generation. She was a member of the Central United Baptist Church.

Also preceding her in death was her husband, Homer L. Butcher; son, Homer E. Butcher; sons-in-law, Tom Hines and Don Farley; sisters, Katie, Lorene, Ree, Pippy and Jula, and brothers, Burl, James “Bud”, Albert, Alba, Berthol and Tracy.

Survivors include her daughters, Patty (Roger) Hainer of Chapmanville, and Sandra Farley and Brenda (Larry) Harvey, both of Garden City Beach, S.C.; daughter-in-law, Patty Butcher of Huntington; grandchildren, Liz (Virgil) Underwood, John (Jeanna) Hainer, Meme Farley, Kim (Ed) Tate, Tommy Hines, Michael (Brandi) Hines, Christy (John) Wade, Hope Burton and Homer (Devin) Butcher; 18 great-grandchildren; her best friend, Jack Creger; many nieces and nephews, all whom had a special place in her heart, and two other special people, Kristie Hainer and Kathy Lane.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday, October 22, at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with a service beginning at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Glen White Jr. and Pastor Randy Skeens officiating.

Graveside services and burial will be at noon Tuesday at the Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Pallbearers will be Justin Hines, John Hainer, Michael Hines, Tommy Hines, Homer Butcher, Seth Hainer and John Wade.

Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Butcher, Virgil Underwood, Jack Armentrout and Ed Tate.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.

So sorry to hear this. She was a fine lady with a beautiful smile, known by all in West Logan and the Logan community. God bless and comfort her family in their time of need.
