We Can Celebrity Dinner set for Thurs.

CHIEF LOGAN STATE PARK — The We Can Celebrity dinner and auction will be held at the Chief Logan Lodge and Conference Center at 6 p.m. Thursday, November 1. The fundraiser provides funds for the We Can program to give children in foster care and under-privileged children a wonderful Christmas.

Business employees, along with other individuals, volunteer their time waiting tables during the event to gather funds from tips. Another source for fundraising includes the silent auction which is filled with items such as a boar hunt and an autographed WVU football. Items are donated by local businesses for the event.

Individual tickets are $30 or table sponsorships are $400 with eight tickets and can be purchased at the DHHR office or the night of the dinner. Visa and Master Card will be accepted. Entertainment will be provided by The Daddy Rabbit Band.

Rahall II Logan County District Representative; Leah Vance Bazzilla; Scotty Dingess, pastor of West Logan Church of God; Patriot Coal Company Team, and John Bennett, Logan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.

Some of the items up for auction include: Boar Hunt for two at Mt. Meadows Hunting Preserve in Monroe Co. donated by White Armature; Men’s WVU Fossil Watch from Man Clothing and Jewelry; Gift Card for Hacienda Mexican Restaurant; two night stay at Chief Logan Lodge, Hotel and Conference Center; Grapevine Tree from Becky Gore; Christmas Wreath from Peggy Prince; Ladies Amethyst and Diamond Ring donated by Uncle Sam’s Loan at Man; Gift Certificate from Nu Era Bakery; George Foreman Grill donated by C & W Discount; Ladies Pulsar Two Tone Watch donated by M&J Jewelers; Fall Gift Basket from Something County; Yankee Candle Basket from Man Pharmacy; Movie passes donated by Fountain Place Cinema 8; Comprehensive Eye Exam and Maui Jim Sunglasses by White Eye Care; Autographed WVU football donated by WV University; Twilight package donated by Fountain place Cinema 8 and a Golf package.
