LOGAN, W.Va. — Charles Leroy “Bro” Ragland II, 76, of Logan, departed this life and earned his wings Thursday November 1, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born August 15, 1936, in Logan, he was a son of the late Charles Leroy I and Edna Mae Beatty Ragland. Also preceding him in death was his brother, Willie Ragland, and three sisters, Helen Kelly, Virginia Banks and Alberta Harris.
Bro was member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in Logan, attended Aracoma High School, retired from Guyan Valley Hospital and the Old Aracoma High School. He was a proud veteran, serving his country through the National Guard and attended the Seniors Program at PRIDE of Logan..
Survivors left to cherish his memory include his loving and devoted daughter, Christine Evans of Logan; two sisters, Edna Mae (Walter) Jones of Huntington and Mary (William) Cunningham of Columbus, Ohio; two grandsons, Anthony “AP” Perrin of Cora and Derrick Perrin of Logan; one great-grandson, Luv’Ante Kenney of Whitman; three great-granddaughters, Shaylynn Rain Perrin and Nevaeh Perrin, both of Logan, and Sophia Stone of Morgantown, and a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends.
The family would like to thank Lucille Evans, Rufus Norman, Paige Lynn Wolford, Katie Kenney, Autumn Vinson, Barbara Boatwright, Jaylin Early and Dr Rhada for their love and support during Charles’ illness.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 8, at the Ebenezer Missionary Baptist with Rev. James H. Mosley Jr. officiating. Following services, per his request, his remains will be cremated. Military honors will be performed at the church.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.
