Several people have been recently charged with domestic violence charges in Logan County.


John David Chapman, 43, of Logan, was arrested on November 5 by Logan Police Department Patrolman J.L. Sheppard for domestic violence assault and malicious wounding. Chapman is accused of allegedly beating a female on or about July 15 on Pine Street. The female reportedly received lacerations to the head and knees, had swelling around both eyes and redness around her neck.


The complaint states that the victim “advised officers that the accused beat her with his fists and threw her to the ground and kicked her several times. She was transported to Logan Regional Medical Center for treatment. On October 10, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Chapman.


He is being held in the Southwestern Regional Jail on a $10,000 bail.


• Homer Preston Gibson, 40, was arrested and charged with public intoxication, obstructing an officer and trespassing on November 1 by Logan County Sheriff Deputies M.B. Carter and J.A. Lyall. He was released on a $1,000 bond.


• Jamie Edward Morris, 28, was arrested and charged with domestic assault, domestic battery and obstructing an officer by LCSD M.B. Carter and Lyall on November 2. He was released on a $3,500 bond.


• Ashley Nicole Berry, 23, was arrested and charged with domestic assault, domestic battery and obstructing by LCSD M.B. Carter and J.A. Lyall on November 2. She was released on a $3,500 bond.


• Johnny Ray Plumley, 35, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and domestic battery on November 2 by Logan PD Patrolmen R. Adkins and J. Sheppard. He was released on a $1,500 bond.


• Ricky Blankenship, 25, was arrested and charged with fleeing on foot, obstructing an officer and public intoxication on November 3 by Chapmanville PD Sgt. L. Preece Jr. He was released on a $1,000 bond.


• Kelly Johnson, 36, was arrested and charged with two counts of obstructing an officer and two counts of assault on November 3 by West Virginia State Trooper R.E. Stowers. He was released on a $1,500 bond.


• Donald Dewayne Messer, 30, was arrested and charged with destruction of property and failure to submit to fingerprints on November 3 by WVSP Tpr. J.E. Garren. He was released on a $3,000 bond.


• Thomas Anthony Tolliver, 44, was arrested and charged with driving suspended/revoked for DUI, defective equipment, seat belt violation, speeding and failure to use turn signal on November 5. He was released on a $3,000 bond.


• John David Lilly, 34, was arrested and charged with domestic assault and domestic battery on November 7 by Logan PD Patrolman E. Maynard. He was released on a $3,000 bond.
