CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. — Mr. Carroll B. Barker, 71, of Garretts Fork of Chapmanville, was born January 18, 1941, at Barkers Fork of Chapmanville, a son of the late Sidney M. and Arizona Hill Barker. He went home to be with the Lord Thursday, November 15, 2012, at his residence.
Mr. Barker was a part owner in the family’s business Barker’s Dairy, attended the Mill Creek Church of God and served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict from 1966 to 1968.
Also preceding him in death was his brother, Mack.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sue Nida Barker; aunt, Mabel Ferrell of Hubert Hill Road; brothers, Bill (Betty) and Mack’s spouse, Janice, all of Garretts Fork, and Sidney (Patty) and John (Brenda), all of Barkers Fork; sisters, Eunice (Roger) Beckett of Hurricane and Joann (Wendell) Samson of Winfield; godchild, Kody Chattin of Poca; special niece, Stephanie Nida; brothers-in-law, Glen (Billie) Nida and Steve (Rhonda) Nida, both of Crooked Creek; sisters-in-law, Mary (Frank) Vance of Man and Jane (Curtis) Gibson of Garretts Fork, and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 17, at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services at Chapmanville with Minister Bishop Trent Belford officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill with Military Graveside Rites.
His nephews, Kevin Bucher, Jim Marcum, Tommy Vance, Glen Nida Jr., Frank Marcum, Travis Samson, Wendell Samson and Gavin Barker will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will begin one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.
