DANVILLE, W.Va. — Mr. Donnie Joe Lewis, 62, of Danville, was born December 12, 1949, at Madison, a son of the late Joe and Edith Holstein Lewis. He departed this life Sunday, November 18, 2012, at his residence.

Mr. Lewis was a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA, a member of the Madison Christian Center and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Vietnam Conflict.

Also preceding him in death was his brother, David Paul Lewis.

Survivors include his wife, Marlyn Ann Akers Lewis; children, Lori Collins, Kelli Roberts and Joe David Collins; grandchildren, Preston Chase Roberts, Lynsie Alysie Collins, Logen Dewayne Collins, James Brock Roberts and Charles Jacob Collins; siblings, Danny Lewis, Diana Adkins, Debbie Sweeney and Deena Ball, and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, November 23, at the Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Pastor Roger McCauley and Pastor Rusty Newsome officiating. Following the funeral ceremony, a Military Service will be conducted at the funeral home to honor the service Donnie gave for his country.

Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
