HARTWOOD, Va. — James Edwin Dingess, 72, of Hartwood, Va., passed away Sunday, November 25, 2012, at Stafford Hospital in Stafford County, Va.
Born in Beckley, he was a son of the late Moscoe and Ruby R. Chrislip Dingess. Also preceding him in death was his brother, Norman Harold Dingess.
James was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.
Survivors include his sister, Elizabeth “Liz” (Ron) Pickles, and his nephews, Robert (Tabitha) Dingess and James (Heather) Dingess, both of Hartwood, Thomas (Miria) Dingess of Tooele, Utah, David (Elizabeth) Dingess of Front Royal, Va., and Chris Pickles of Kellogg, Iowa.
He was a great Christian man who loved the Lord and will be missed by the children who knew him as the “candy man.”
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in Beckley.
