CHAPMANVILLE — Mr. Roger Dale Bryant, 60, of Garrett Fork of Chapmanville, was born October 16, 1952, at Logan, a son of Mary Rose Marcum, who was his caregiver and whom he made his home with, of Garrett Fork and the late Donald Troy Bryant. He departed this life Friday, November 30, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center at Logan.

Also preceding him in death were his maternal grandparents, Thurlo and Mabel McColgan; paternal grandparents, John and Tollie Bryant; nephew, Zachary Wade Bryant, and several aunts and uncles.

Roger enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, going to flea markets, and telling jokes to everyone he knew. He loved his community very much and was a very active member of the Garrett Fork Crime Watch which he loved with a passion. Roger was a coal truck driver with Marcum Trucking before becoming disabled. He was loved by everyone who knew him and a loving son, father, and brother to his family.

Additionally, those left to mourn and cherish his memory include two sons, Correy (Lisa) Bryant and Clayton Bryant, both of Rock Lick of Garrett Fork; grandsons, Cameron Wooten and Justin Michael to be born in February; five brothers, Clifford (Donna) Bryant and Donald (Katrina) Bryant, both of Lake, Ronnie Bryant of Pie, and David Bryant and Keith (Darlene) Bryant, both of Garrett Fork; two sisters, Gaynelle (Ned) Buckner of Foster and Debbie (Kerry) Coleman of Hickory, N.C., and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He will be truly missed by all who loved him.

Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 4, at Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Dean Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at the Bryant Cemetery at Garrett Fork.

Pallbearers will be his brothers and brothers-in-law.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Garrett, Sammy Garrett Jr, Johnny Mons, David Swim, James Mills Jr., and Eugene Mazzocchi.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Evans Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.

Uncle Roger, I love you very much!! You are in a better place and no longer suffering!!! R.I.P. My prayers are with my family in this time of need!!! Lord please wrap your arms around them and keep them strong!!!! Again, I love you Uncle Roger and you will FOREVER be missed!!!!!
