PEACH CREEK, W.Va. — Michael J. Miller, 69, of Peach Creek, was born December 3, 1943, and went home to be with the Lord Thursday, December 6, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving family following a long illness.

Preceding him in death were his parents, John W. and Freda M. Miller.

Michael was a former U.S. Army veteran and Commander of the American Legion Post 19 for a long number of years. He was also a coal miner for 13 years and a retired auto body instructor for the Ralph R. Willis Vocational School for 14 years.

Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Linda L. Miller; son Keith A. Miller and wife, Cynthia, and grandchildren who he loves very much, Destiny and Seth Miller who he will always be watching over from Heaven. He also had two brothers: Roger Miller and wife Greta of Peach Creek and Danny Miller and wife Mary of Chicago.

Mike was a very strong willed man; always surrounded by love and loved his family more than life its-self, but will be greatly missed and never forgotten by all his family and friends.

The Miller family would like to thank their family, extended family and friends who gave their love and support through the difficult times that we have had. And a special thanks to Preacher Donnie Wells and Preacher Rockie Chafin and a very close special friend, Leonard Codispoti.

Little did we know that morning

God was going to call your name.

In life we loved you dearly,

In death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you,

But you did not go alone,

For part of us went with you,

The day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories,

Your love is still our guide,

And though we cannot see you,

You are always by our side.

Our family chain is broken,

And nothing seems the same,

But as God calls us one by one,

The chain will link again.
