HARTS, W.Va. — Clifford Wade Farmer, 76, of Harts, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Logan Regional Medical Center.


Born August 5, 1936, at Dehue, he was a son of the late George Farmer and Lula Mae Runyon.


Also preceding him in death were four brothers, Willis, Marion, Raymond and Earnest, and one son-in-law, Freddy Sheppard.


Clifford was a member of the Workman Fork United Baptist Church for over 32 years, serving as a Trustee. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, spending time with family and grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and sitting on the porch watching the birds and squirrels.


Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Betty Gaye Headley Farmer; two daughters, Linda Gaye (Dannie) Thomas, and Janie Grace (Gary) Hurst; three sons, Clifford Neil (Debbie) Farmer, Richard Clinton (Wilma) Farmer and Michael Steven Farmer; one sister, Gail Clevenger; six brothers, Dale Farmer, Enoch Farmer, Charles Farmer, Jerry Farmer, Bob Farmer and Toney Farmer; 11 grandchildren, Jason Sheppard, Jamie Sheppard, Joe Farmer, Serina McCloud, Amberly Grimmett, Sabrina Farmer, Luke Farmer, Nick Hurst, Hannah Hurst, Baylee Farmer, Jennifer Adkins, and nine great-grandchildren, Mika Sheppard, Kayla Sheppard, Kendra Sheppard, Haley Adkins, Emily Adkins, Jason Sheppard II, Tiffany McCloud, Ashley McCloud and Auna Grimmett.


The family would like to thank the great people of the Greater Boone Dialysis for all the special care.


Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, at Workman Fork United Baptist Church at Harts with Manasses Hensley Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at the Farmer Cemetery at Toney Addition at Harts.


Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the church.


Pallbearers will be Joe Farmer, Nick Hurst, Jason Sheppard, Jamie Sheppard, Luke Farmer, Robbie Grimmett and Darryl McCloud.


Honorary pallbearers will be Neil Farmer, Richard Farmer, Steve Farmer, Dannie Thomas, Gary Hurst, and Jason Sheppard II.


Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
