APPLETON, Wis. — Sonja Rose “Sparkle” Tabotabo, 64, of Appleton, Wis., formerly of Matawan, N.J., went to be with her Savior Monday, December 31, 2012.
Born January 10, 1948, in Harts, she was a daughter of the late John and Corky Towles Embrescia. On April 15, 1972, she married Armando Tabotabo in Cleveland, Ohio.
Sonja retired from Bayshore Hospital in Holmdel, N.J., as an X-ray Technician. In 1989, she opened the Bayshore Mammography Center where she was the main supervisor and technician.
She loved to care for people and animals in need and her main mission in life and in death was to share the love of Christ with all of God’s creation. Sonja loved all her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and appreciated the Native American Culture.
Survivors include three children, Jeana (Troy) Riehl of Fond du Lac, Wis., Rene (Kelly) Tabotabo of Topanga, Calif., and Derek Tabotabo of Appleton; seven grandchildren, Ty, Andrew, Makita, Gracie, James and Moses Riehl, all of Fond du Lac, and Rain Tabotabo of Topanga; one sister, Kim (Steve) Light of Harts; one brother, Toby Embrescia of Harts; two nieces, Erika (Steve) Eubanks and Sarah Light, both of Harts; two nephews, John Embrescia of Beckley and Michael Embrescia of Fort Bragg, N.C.; beloved aunts, uncles and cousins; many friends and her dog Snoop.
A Service of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Tuesday, January 8, at Toney Christian Fellowship Church at Harts with Pastor Donnie Wells officiating. Burial will follow at the family cemetery in Harts.
Her family will receive relatives and friends from 10 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at at the church.
Memorials are preferred for an educational fund for the grandchildren.
