LOGAN, W.Va. – A neighbor’s call of concern led relatives to discover the body of Grover Morrison, 88.

His neighbor said she hadn’t seen Mr. Morrison’s car, or him, since Sunday. She called members of the family on Tuesday, who later came to check on him.

The West Virginia State Police, Logan Police Department and the Logan County Sheriff were on the scene investigating what one officer said was “definitely a homicide.”

Morrison’s 2012 Buick Lecerne was missing, then later located near Man. Police are looking for John Edward Dempsey, 37, as a person of interest in the case. Dempsey is described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds and is considered to be armed and dangerous. There is a possibility he is in the Man area.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Logan Police Department at 304-752-6535, or the West Virginia State Police’s Logan Detachment at 304-792-7174.
