GASSAWAY, W.Va. — William Charles Creakman, 67, of Gassaway, formerly of Shamrock, went home to be with the Lord Monday January 7, 2013, at his residence after an extended illness.

Born April 28, 1945, at Shamrock, he was a son of the late Charles Creakman and Lillian Newsome Bostic. Also preceding him in death was one son, Billy Joe Creakman.

William was of the Baptist faith, a vvteran of the Air Force, and a retired coal miner. His hobbies included restoring old cars. William was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and uncle.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 18 years, Charlene Keith Creakman; three daughters, Sheila McCallister of Missouri, Marie (Dale) Solomon of Tennessee and Donna (Frank) Huddleston of Harts; three sons, Michael (April) Creakman of Stollings, Gabriel Creakman of Monaville and Keith Dennison of Gassaway; one sister, Linda Knipp of Ethel; one brother, Ervin Creakman of Ethel; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Brandi, Zachary and Gavin Creakman, Andrea Adams, Dakota and Riley Paige Dennison; one great-grandson, Hunter Adams, and a little companion named Pepper he loved dearly and stayed by his side. William will be dearly missed and was loved by all.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 12, at Collins Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Layton Lockhart officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.

Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brady M., Zack C., Walkie D., Cody D., Mike Keith, Lil Johnny J., Randle M., Brian Keith, Tres Duncan, and Trent Duncan.
