MAN – The driver in an accident that occurred at Man on Thursday is facing multiple charges.

Boydette M. Vance, 48, of Kistler, faces charges that include destruction of property, driving with a revoked driver’s license, driving under the influence and the charge of having no insurance has been added to the list after Man Police Chief David Walls found out her insurance expired in Nov. 2012.

First, the car Vance was driving went off the road and hit a tree. The impact sent the car left of the center line, where it proceeded to hit a parked car. The parked car was pushed forward and hit a truck parked in front of it. Meanwhile, Vance’s car was still in motion and ran through a chain-link fence. The car’s path of destruction finally ended when it ran into a house.

Vance told Chief Walls she had recently been released from the hospital and had blacked out prior to the accident. She then admitted to having no driver’s license and also told Walls she had taken two Xanax pills. She failed the only sobriety test Walls administered due to her weakened state.

Vance refused LEASA transport for medical treatment, but was taken to Logan Regional Medical Center to have blood drawn and sent to the West Virginia State Police Crime Lab for testing to determine the presence and levels of any drugs in her system.

Bond for Vance was set at $3,000.
