Wilma Lewis-Vickers, 82, of Portage, Mich., went to be with her Heavenly Father, Sunday evening, December 23, 2012. Wilma was born August 29, 1931, at Logan, the daughter of Robert and Lillian (Nunnally) Spears and she was a graduate of Logan High School. She was a member of Fourth Reformed Church. Wilma touched the lives of many people with her uplifting personality and made friends everywhere she went. On December 31, 1949 she was united in marriage to Emery Lewis, Jr. who preceded her in death on February 14, 2005. She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sharon; a Grandson Hosea, 4 brothers and 2 sisters, Edward, Eva, Russell, Robert and Eileen, and infant brother, Buster. Surviving is her husband, Clifford Vickers; her children, Carol (Dave) Cleveland, Jan Curry, Gary (Marcia) Lewis, Sandy (Jim) Vickers; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; sister and brothers, Louise (Jim) Barker, Johnny (Thelma) Spears, Charles Spears; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held at noon on Friday, December 28 at the Langeland Family Funeral Home. Interment followed at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery . Memorials may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center or the Kalamazoo Christian Schools Association. Information provided by her brother, Charles R. Spears.
