No, they weren’t playing football.

But it sure looked like a football score as the Logan Middle School girls’ basketball team routed Ripley, 41-7, on Monday night on the road.

At least Ripley was able to score one touchdown and kick the extra point.

With all kidding aside, the Lady Wolves kept their winning streak alive as Logan improved to 10-0 overall and remained in first place in the Mid-Valley Conference with a 6-0 mark.

Logan’s Sydnee Roberts led all scorers with 11 points in the game. She also had two rebounds, two steals and one assist.

“Sydnee did a good job getting out ahead of the defense and was able to get a couple of layups,” Lady Wolves’ coach Carol Workman said. “She also drained a couple of nice perimeter shots.”

Jamyaa Knox added six points, five rebounds, five assists and had a game-leading seven steals for LMS.

Jazmyne Early had six points and two rebounds, while Tomi Nelson added four points, two blocks and a game-high six rebounds for Logan.

“Jaz and Tomi did a great job of controlling the boards tonight,” Coach Workman said.

Logan also got four points and three rebounds each from Chelsea Napier and Lexi Hines. Hines added two steals and two assists before leaving the game with two minor injuries.

Beth Adkins, Ally Sipple and Jaden Oney each had a basket for LMS. Sipple added four assists, while Oney and Adkins had four rebounds.

Steph Curry had four rebounds but didn’t figure into the scoring.

In JV action, LMS lost for the second time this year to Ripley, 43-31.

Oney led LMS with seven points and two steals, while early had six points and two rebounds.

Stephanie Eplin and C.C. Knox each had five points, two rebounds and a steal.

Sipple tallied four points and had a team-high five steals.

Alexis Perry added three points and recorded a team-high seven assists, while Maggie Doss had one point and two rebounds.

Britney Welch, Alexis Canterbury, Zoe Browning, Larra Elkins and Whitney Workman all had defensive contributions.
