WHITMAN, W.Va. — Roy W. Adkins, 80, of Whitman, departed this life Friday, January 25, 2013, at Logan Regional Medical Center.
Born in Putnam, he was a son of the late Bill and Rosa Henson Adkins.
Roy was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of The Monahill Freewill Baptist Church, and a retired salesman and minister.
Those to left to cherish his memories include his wife, Thelma Louise Damron Adkins; one son, Clifton; three daughters, Kenya, April and Malissa; one brother and six sisters.
A great heart felt Thank You to Dr. Kanuri, all the staff at the Logan Regional Medical Center, Trinity Healthcare, and all our church family and friends.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 28, at Monahill Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Mansfield Damron and Pastor Andy Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Pallbearers will be David Adkins, Mike Ratliff, Cliff Adkins, John Reed, Joe Vance and Jody Proffitt.
Visitation will be held from 6-9 p.m. Sunday at the church
