CHAPMANVILLE — A local school aims to break their record last year in fundraising for the Jump Rope for Heart. West Chapmanville Grade School was ranked number two in the entire state of West Virginia for money raised.
“This is a huge accomplishment,” said Doug Barrett, principal of West Chapmanville Grade. “Also, the school raised the most money in the entire county. In all, West Chapmanville Grade School raised around $10,545 for the American Heart Association.”
Funds raised are for the American Heart Association (AHA). The AHA provides extensive research to help others improve overall heart health. The non-profit also provides education and healthcare services to those with heart issues.
Organizing the event is Myrtle Conley, Physical Education teacher at West Chapmanville Grade School.
