COVE CITY, N.C. — Ruby Mae Toppings Kemp, 62, of Cove City, N.C., formerly of Landville, departed this life Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at home after a sudden illness.
Born April 7, 1950, at Landville, she was a daughter of the late Clyde “Skinny” and Emmazell McDaniels Sizemore and the late John Toppings. Also preceding her in death was one daughter, Teresa McDonald, and one sister, Ruth Ann Sizemore.
Ruby was a retired cook formerly employed with Your House Restaurant at Raleigh, N.C. She was of the Freewill Baptist faith. Ruby loved to crochet and spend time with her great-grandchildren.
Those left to cherish her memory include three daughters, Rebecca (Windel) Perry of Bailey, N.C., Pamela Poulin of Cove City, and Angie (Bobby) Messer of Accoville; one adopted son, Dwayne (Gail) Ellis of Springhope, N.C; three sisters, Elizabeth “Libby” Sizemore and Pam Sizemore, both of Landville, and Sherry (Rev. Jackie) Grimmett of Christian; one brother, Patrick “Cheryl” Sizemore of Accoville; 10 grandchildren, Amy (David) Jones of Cove City, with whom she made her home, Larry (Lequita) Parsons of Wendell, N.C., Curtis Parsons and Brittany Perry, both of Bailey, Kaleigh Poulin and Leah Poulin, both of Cove City, and Derek, Reese, and Tate Messer, all of Accoville; eight great-grandchildren, Logan, April Marie, Emma, Taleah, Larry, Lauren, Kaitlyn and Benjamin, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at noon Monday, February 11, at Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Campbell and Rev. Jackie Grimmett officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens at Godby.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Krantz-McNeely Funeral Home, 115 Market St., Man, WV 25635 to help with funeral expenses.
