An arrest was made by Logan City Police after a warrant was served on a man who wrote two stolen checks for purchases at Wal-Mart.

The incident occurred on April 1 and April 11 of 2010. Officer M. E. Dickerson obtained video surveillance for the dates the checks were written.

The man shown writing the checks was later identified as Kennith Raymond Browning II, 42, of Holden, who was the ex-husband of the victim.

Allegedly, Browning made the purchases and electronically signed his wife’s name, then immedately went to Customer Service where he returned the items for cash. The total for both checks was $205.64.

Browning was arrested and charged with two counts of forgery/uttering and two counts of obtaining money under false pretenses. He was released under $5,000 bond.
