The Cantare choir of the Appalachian Children’s Chorus assisted Governor Earl Ray Tomblin in lighting the Capitol grounds Christmas tree during the Joyful Night celebration on December 6, 2012. One of ACC’s Charleston based choirs, Camerata, joined Cantare as they entertained the crowd with songs taken from their “Yuletide Revelry” program performed at the Clay Center.

Directed by Mrs. Lisa Anderson, the Cantare choir rehearses in Logan as the southern W.Va. chapter of the Appalachian Children’s Chorus. They will perform locally on May 5 at Southern W.Va. Community and Technical College’s Logan Campus. The concert is at 3 p.m. If you love to sing and are in grades 3-8, you are invited to stay after the concert to sign up to sing with Cantare for the Fall 2013 Season. Check out our other performance dates on their website www.wvacc.org/choirs/cantare-choir. For more information on how to join the choir or to schedule a performance, contact Anderson at 304-784-8421 or by email at lmwanderson@gmail.com.
