TAYLORVILLE, W.Va. — Sheriff Walter “Eugene” Crum, 59, of Taylorville, passed away Wednesday, April, 3, 2013, while serving the citizens of Mingo County.


Born December 24, 1953, in Logan, he was a son of the late Walter and Myrl Steele Crum; stepson of Harold Justice of Texas, and son-in-law of the late Jack and Joetta Martin of Delbarton.


Also preceding him in death was his sister, Sheryl, and her husband Carlos Jackson of Somerset, Ky., and his sister, Sue Curry, also of Somerset.


Survivors include his loving wife of 37 years, Rosie Martin Crum; his children, Julie (Joey) Hall and Eugene “Bub” (Angela) Crum, both of Indiana; grandsons, Steven and Joseph Hall, and Kai Crum; granddaughter, Sydney Grace Ooten; a special lady raised as a daughter, Dorothy (Jay) Hickman of Virginia; brothers, Freddie (Kathryn) Crum of Varney, and Denny Crum and also Jeff Justice of Texas; many nieces and nephews, and a host of extended family and friends.


Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 7, at the Mingo Central High School Gymnasium with Rev. Paul Caudill and Rev. Lewis Hall officiating.


Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. Saturday and again beginning at 10 a.m. Sunday at the school.
