HARTS, W.Va. — Lewis Barney “LB” Pennington, 74, of Harts, departed this life Wednesday, April 10, 2013, at his residence.


Born March 23, 1939, in Logan, he was a son of the late Delmar and Laura Jarrell Pennington. Also preceding him in death was his first wife, Maxine Sizemore Pennington; one son, Arthur Pennington; seven brothers, Beecher, Robert, Ray, Grady and Frank Pennington, and Levi and Claude “Jr” Ritchie, and one sister, Mae Hughes.


LB loved his family; he enjoyed working outdoors, and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 47 years, Glenda Miller Pennington; six daughters, Debbie McGinnis of Charleston, Laura (Scott) Fry of Barboursville, Della Pennington (Ted Willis), Tina (George) McKinney, Angie Pennington (Eric Adkins), and Michelle (Gary) Adkins, all of Harts; two sons, Lewis and James Pennington, both of Harts; two sisters, Joyce (Chuck) Goodman and Linda Bailey; one brother, George Lee Ritchie; 12 grandchildren, David (Greta) Fry, Joshua McCoy, Brandon Hatfield, Daniel Hatfield, Jared (Jessica) McKinney, Joseph McKinney, Timothy Runyon, Stephen McKinney, Cody Pennington, Justin Adkins, Stefan Dingess, and Kaleigh Dingess; great-grandchildren, Jordan and Alyssa Fry, Draven Hatfield, Skyler and Gabriel McKinney and Maya McKinney, and his special niece and family, Becky, Glen and Christopher Adkins.


Services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, April 12, at Freeman Funeral Home with Dick Workman officiating. Burial will follow at the Pennington Family Cemetery at Broad Branch.


Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.


Pallbearers will be Jared, Brandon, Josh, David, Joseph, Justin, Daniel and Stephen.


Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
