RRWCTC inducts students into honor society

THREE MILE CURVE — Sixteen students of the Ralph R. Willis Career/Technical Center (RRWCTC) were recognized for outstanding achievement and leadership by the National Technical Honor Society on April 30, 2013. The goal of the society is to see that deserving technical students are recognized and that people of the community become aware of the talents and abilities of the young people and adults who choose technical education pathways to a successful future.


Students recognized were Cody Lee White from Computer Technology (Becky Keathley, Instructor); Morgan Church and Marissa Hare, Health Occupations (Jeff Jude, Instructor); Jessica Pack, Pro-Start Culinary (Sallie Chambers, Instructor); Dustin Conley and Thomas Compton, Welding Technology(Jeremy Frazier, Instructor); Brent Bigley, Alexander Crum and Dustin White, Electrical Technology (Ed Kirkendoll, Instructor) and Billy Johnson, Clinton McNeely and Coleton Adkins, Building Construction (John T. Cain, Instructor).


The Logan-Mingo School of Practical Nursing instructors Melissa Perry, Lisa Perry and Connie Thompson inducted four students from this year’s outstanding class: Talena Curry, Heather Leslie, Christie Smith and Tonya Tucker.


“We are very proud of these students and our entire class of nursing graduates. They will be an asset to the medical field,” Melissa Perry said, “This is the first year I have had a student maintain a perfect 4.00 class average.”


“We are proud of these students and all students that choose career and technical education as their career path,” Principal David Adkins said. “These students are learning a valuable skill that will enable them to land a job and to be successful in life. We wish them much success,”


The National Technical Honor Society is the acknowledged leader in the recognition of outstanding student achievement in career and technical education. NTHS was founded in 1984 and now has over 3,200 schools and colleges national affiliated with the society.
