LOGAN, W.Va. — Wallace “Freelan” Justice Sr., 67, of Logan, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at Logan Regional Medical Center after a long battle with diabetes.
Born December 24, 1945, he was a son of the Chester and Causby Starr Horn. Also preceding him in death was a sister, Lucinda Fletcher; one brother, Ricky Horn; one grandson, Shade Workman, and a great-grandson, Damien Shade Burgess.
Wallace was a retired employee of the City of Logan Street Department, where he worked for 43 years, devoting his time to the city and all of the people he cared so much about. He was a beloved and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and great-grandfather. Wallace treasured his family as well as his friends. His favorite recreation was fishing with his grandson, Brandon, and spending time with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 48 years Sandra Workman Justice; three sons, Freelan Bo Dujon Justice, Wallace Justice and Freelan “Bubby” Justice, all of Logan; one daughter, Causby Justice of Logan; three grandsons, Ricky Wallace Justice, Wallace Charles Justice and Brandon Scott Workman, all of Logan; granddaughter, Nikki Ellis of Logan; great-grandson, Shade Christopher Workman; sister and special friend, Nancy Sue Kemp of McConnell; sister, Martha (Noah) Lombardo of Man; brother, Andrew Jackson Horn of Greer, S.C., and a host of many special nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at Honaker Funeral Home with Rev. Noah Lombardo officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill.
Visitation will be from noon-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Freelan Bo Dujon Justice, Wallace Justice, Freelan “Bubby” Justice Ricky Jusitce, George Kemp, Brandon Kemp, Chester Ray Horn, Ronald Shultz Jr., Justin Thompson, Derrick Pearson, Roy “Squirt” Marcum and Les Cantrell.
