CHAPMANVILLE, W.Va. Macie Adams Adkins, 52, of Chapmanville, departed this life Thursday, June 25, 2009 at Logan Regional Medical Center.
She was born February 23, 1957 at West Hamlin, a daughter of Inis Adams of Harts and the late Ben Adams.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pat and Lucy Riffe and her father-in-law, Elva Adkins.
Macie enjoyed deer hunting, gardening and crafts.
In addition to her mother, those left to cherish her memory include, her husband, Gregory Bruce Adkins of Chapmanville; one daughter, Amanda Adkins of Harts; one son, Allen (Michelle) Adkins of Harts; two stepsons, Bruce (Jessica) Adkins of Mason County and Steven Adkins of Ohio; four sisters, Beth (Millard) Mullins, Doris Adams, Sandy Kinder all of Harts and Lisa (D.J.) Bryant of Kentucky; ten brothers, Willie (Regina) Adams, Maverick (Gladys) Adams, Donald (Brenda) Adams, Paul (Carol) Adams, Quinton (Beverly) Adams, Benny (Carol) Adams, Alvie Adams, Robby (Kim) Adams, Lonnie (Donna) Adams and Cyrus (Lisa) Adams all of Harts; and five grandchildren, Chloe and Allen Adkins, Cheyenne, Reed and Skylar Vance. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Thelma Adkins, a special uncle, Don (Garnet) Adkins; and cousins, Larry Adkins, Frank and Keith Scaggs, one special friend, Karen Sponaugle and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Jimmy Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Reb Adkins Cemetery at Harts.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, starting at 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her brothers.
Freeman Funeral Home, Chapmanville, is in charge of arrangements.
