Alex Frank Miller, 27, of Logan, was arrested in Logan by Officers J.L. Sheppard and D.A. White of the Logan Police Department for malicoius wounding on Nov. 18.
According to police reports, on Nov. 17, the officers responded to a call from Dingess Street in regards to an individual who had suffered stab wounds.
The officers arrived on scene at 11:20 p.m. and asked Alex Miller what had happened. The report said Alex Miller then stated, “I got into a fight with my brother, and I stabbed him.”
The officer then reportedky asked him where Curtis Miller was and Alex Miller stated that his brother has run away. The officers then searched for the victim and found him on the steps in front of 563 Dingess Street.
The officers then reportedly saw blood on his face, arms, shirt and pants. Curtis Miller reportedly told the officers that Alex Miller had stabbed him in the neck. Curtis Miller was then taken by County Public Ambulance to Logan Regional Medical Center.
Officer Sheppard and Sgt. White then processed the crime scene.
Afterwards, Alex Miller reportedly told officers that he would like to be taken to the hospital for treatment.
At that time, the officers had Alex Miller transported him to LRMC for treatment of injuries.
While there, though, he refused medical attention.
While at the hospital, the officers reportedly learned that Curtis Miller suffered from four stab wounds to the left side of his body. Two of the wounds were located on his chest, one on his neck and another on his foot. He was later transported by HealthNet to Charleston Area Medical Center for treatment.
The officers received a written statement from Alex Miller stating that he and his brother got into a physical altercation when "he went to his bedroom and retreived a knife, then stabbed his brother near the collarbone."
Alex Miller was taken into custody and was booked at the Southwestern Regional Jail at Holden at 1:35 a.m. In the past, Miller has been arrested on theft related charges.
